I’m putting on a show!

I’m bursting with excitement to (officially) share with you all that I am playing at the Sidney Myer Music bowl on Thursday 18 March, after basically hibernating for a year!! 

This real-life, in person, gig with an actual audience (!!!) will be like my own carols by candlelight only with swearing and way more sequins (if you can believe it)! 

This show will be stripped back and raw (no confetti canons or giant wangs – soz guys) because we need a proper catch up! We need a debrief, we need to look each other in the eye and say WELL DONE on being the backbone of your family in 2020. I mean don’t worry, I’m bringing the full band (Vincie will be in his finest golfing attire) and I’ve picked some killer songs for you all to belt out at the top of your lungs! Yes, The Bowl has hosted some huge gigs, but they’ve not seen the likes of you lot! 

Now gang, full warning to keep us all safe with COVID-19 this show is intimate and seating is configured to ensure social distancing! The exciting news it some of you will get your own podiums! And it’s not even 1998! So it’s time to fire up the group chat, book the babysitters and appoint your group leader as tickets go on sale THIS Thursday at 12 noon (AEST)!!! You know my shows tend to sell out fast, and I’m only doing the one show at this stage so get in QUICKLY.

I may just get on stage and cry for two hours out of relief and joy. I’ve missed doing what I love so much, and I’m also happy that I get to employ many talented artists, musicians and crew who’ve all been doing it tough during this time. The Arts is slowly making a comeback and you’ll be a part of it’s rebirth! So Melbourne, I need you to prepare your sensible flat dancing shoes and stretchy leopard print pants and get ready to release the pent up frustrations of 2020!

How many tickets can I buy?

To ensure we are keeping everyone safe and following venue and government social distancing ticket groups have been set up. To avoid confusion, tickets must be purchased in the following quantities:

Stalls Tier D – Table of 4

Stalls Tier E – Table of 4

Terrace – Seated Area for 4

Balcony A – Fixed Seating for 2

Balcony B – Fixed Seating for 1

Front Lawn Decks – Admits 6

Decks Front – Admits 6

Decks Back – Admits 6

By purchasing in the above quantities this allows all private decks, stalls tables and balcony seats are a minimum of 1.5 metres apart from other groups.

CAN I PURCHASE A SINGLE TICKET FOR THE PRIVATE DECKS OR STALL TABLES?

You are welcome to reserve a private deck or stalls table for fewer than four or six guests. However, you must purchase and receive all tickets for that space.

For example, if you have five people in your group, you are welcome to reserve a lawn deck for up to six, but you will receive all six tickets for the deck.

Single tickets can be purchased on the balcony.

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY?

As you know the industry has been in distress for almost 12 months with freelance crew, performers, tour managers, cleaners etc unable to get consistent work. Due to Covid-19, venues are having to now operate at reduced capacities to ensure the safety of all patrons. However, operating costs including paying all crew appropriate wages remain the same. Therefore, ticket prices must be the prices set above to ensure all costs are covered. Your understanding and support of getting the arts and entertainment industry back on its feet.

WHAT SOCIAL DISTANCING IS IN PLACE?

To ensure social distancing all private decks, stalls tables and balcony seats are a minimum of 1.5 metres apart from other groups.

Tickets will be on-sale Thursday 21 January 12 noon AEST (tomorrow) via Ticketek.

DOES MY TICKET COME WITH A SEAT?

Every ticket type is one chair per patron (including balcony, tables and decks).

WILL FOOD BE AVAILABLE AT THE SHOW?

YES! Absolutely! Food trucks will be onsite, and orders can be placed via the QR code in your designated area (fancy!).

You can also pre-order picnic hampers when buying your tickets through Ticketek. There are three options filled with cheese, dips and goodies!

Heads up, the Sidney Myer Music Bowl is a cashless venue. They accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express payments.

WILL DRINKS BE AVAILABLE AT THE SHOW?

Um, of course! Bars will be open at the gig, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

CAN WE BRING FOOD / A PICNIC TO THE SHOW?

Yes, it’s time to open Pinerest for killer antipasto board inspo and bring your best snacks! Just keep in mind that you cannot bring:

Glass

Hard-sided containers or eskies

Large knives

Alcohol

Tables, tents or sun shelters and/or portable seating of any kind
